What it feels like to have us there
You've probably seen the other version. Someone running your day like a photoshoot. Stand here. Hand on his chest. Look away, now laugh.
That's not us.
Most of the day we're quiet, somewhere off to the side, waiting for the thing that's actually happening. Your dad going still when he sees you. Your best friend fixing your veil before you even ask. Those ten seconds after the ceremony when it's just the two of you and neither of you knows what to say.
We do guide you during portraits, because nobody knows what to do with their hands and pretending otherwise is not helpful. But it feels more like a conversation than a photoshoot. We'll give you something to do instead of a pose to hold, then step back and let the real thing show up.
Our goal is that you barely notice us. That's the whole job.
Temecula light, month by month
We live here, so let's save you a surprise.
Temecula is inland. There's almost no marine layer to soften the afternoon, so from about May through September the sun stays hard and high well into the evening. Not a problem. Just something to plan for instead of discover at four o'clock.
In high summer, the good portrait light doesn't really show up until the last ninety minutes before sunset. If your ceremony is at five in July, ask us about stealing ten or fifteen minutes away around 7:30. That's the light that makes vineyard photos look the way you pictured them. Nobody will notice you're gone.
October through April, everything gets easier. Sunset comes earlier, the light turns golden by mid afternoon, and a four o'clock ceremony flows straight into portraits without anyone rushing. Spring and fall are also when the valley looks its best, which is why those dates go first.
And the heat is real. Temecula runs ten to fifteen degrees hotter than the coast in summer. We'll plan getting ready and first looks in the shade, keep portrait blocks short, and scout your venue before we march anybody across an open lawn at two in the afternoon.

Where we shoot around the valley
Temecula is unusual for Southern California. Most of the wedding venues here are working farmland.
The wine country strip along Rancho California Road and De Portola Road has most of them. The names couples ask us about most are Ponte, Wilson Creek, Europa Village, South Coast, Callaway, Mount Palomar, Avensole, Leoness, Falkner, Lorimar and Wiens. Off the wineries there are ranch and estate venues like Galway Downs, Lake Oak Meadows, Villa de Amore and Temecula Creek Inn. And a steady stream of backyard and private estate weddings that never show up on any venue list.

How much coverage you actually need
Six hours fits a tight day. Getting ready already underway, ceremony, portraits, the first hour of the reception. Right for smaller weddings and for couples who genuinely don't need the dance floor covered.
Eight hours is what most Temecula weddings want. Back half of getting ready through a good stretch of dancing, nobody watching a clock.
Ten to twelve is for the big ones. First look, large wedding party, multiple ceremonies or traditions, long reception, a sparkler exit. If your timeline has more than two locations in it, this is usually the honest answer.

One married team, photo and film
Book photo and video separately and you usually get two companies meeting for the first time in your getting ready room. Sometimes that's fine. Sometimes it's two people asking you to look in different directions and two galleries that don't look like the same wedding.
We solved that by being married.
Naomi shoots photo, Chris shoots film, and we know where the other one is standing without looking. One timeline, not two. And since it's the two of us either way, booking both together costs less than hiring twice. The film side is on our Temecula videography page.
Questions couples ask us
How much does a wedding photographer cost in Temecula?
Ours start at $2,500. Across the valley, an experienced photographer covering a full day generally runs somewhere between $2,500 and $7,000 depending on hours, second shooter, engagement session and albums. Anything far below that usually means a very new photographer or a very short day. Both can be fine, as long as you know that's what you're getting.
How far ahead should we book?
Nine to eighteen months is normal. Peak Saturdays in April, May, September and October go earliest, often more than a year out. Winter and weekday dates stay open much longer and are genuinely good value.
Do you shoot at our venue?
Almost certainly. We work all over Temecula Valley, at the wineries, the ranch and estate venues, and on private property. If we haven't shot yours, we get there early and walk it properly. We'd do that anyway.
Do we need a second shooter?
You get both of us on every collection, because we work as a pair. A third set of hands helps when your guest count is over about 150, when you and your partner are getting ready far apart, or when you want the reception room photographed empty while the ceremony is happening.
What if it rains?
We shoot anyway. Rain plans come up in every timeline conversation we have. Temecula gets very little rain, but the plan exists regardless.
When do we get our photos?
A sneak peek lands shortly after the wedding so you have something to share while it still feels fresh, and your full gallery follows in the weeks after. Exact timing is written into your collection.
